Vol. 148 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Graving Dock.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (1) when it is hoped to complete the construction of the new graving dock in the port of Dublin, (2) the original date of completion provided for in the contract, and (3) if it is proposed to invoke the penalty clauses embodied in the contract for failure to complete the contract by the specified date.

I am informed by the Dublin Port and Docks Board that it is hoped to complete the construction of the new graving dock by June, 1956. The contract was placed by the board in February, 1951. The details of the contract and the question of enforcing any penalties are matters for the board.
