asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of persons in Limerick City who are in receipt of public assistance, and what method of payment is in operation.

On the 29th January, 1955, the latest date for which particulars are available, the number of persons resident in Limerick City who were in receipt of home assistance was 99.

Payment of home assistance is normally made in cash by the assistance officer at the dispensary, Gerald Griffin Street, on the Friday of each week from 12 noon to 1 p.m., and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Any outstanding cases are paid on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
