Vol. 148 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vocational Schools: Rural Science.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state the number of persons attending rural science classes in vocational schools as a percentage of persons attending all technical and vocational courses at a recent convenient date.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state the number of persons attending rural science classes in vocational schools at a recent convenient date.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 21 and 22 together.

The information asked for by the Deputy is not available. Such information has not been assembled and I am not clear as to what useful purpose would be served by asking the various vocational education committees to attempt to assemble it. Perhaps the Deputy would communicate with me further in the matter if he feels that, notwithstanding any difficulties, he desires particular details.

asked the Minister for Education whether he has received within recent months representations, either in writing or by way of deputations, for an extension of facilities for rural science instruction in vocational schools, and, if so, the nature of such representations, and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

I do not recollect having received any special representations in this matter.
