Vol. 148 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pension Means Assessment.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will consider excluding, if necessary, by the introduction of proposals for legislation, the amount of a British old age pension from the assessment of means when migratory workers make an application for an old age pension here.

I am not persuaded that the course proposed could be justified; and I am not prepared, at present, to introduce proposals for the legislation suggested.
