Vol. 148 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Dublin Flooding.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the cause or causes of the flooding on 8th and 9th December, 1954, in the Glasnevin, Drumcondra, Ballybough, North Strand and East Wall areas.

I understand that the Dublin Corporation are examining the causes of the flooding referred to by the Deputy but that it is not possible to make any statement on the matter at this stage.

Can the Minister indicate at what stage it will be possible to have information given to this House as to the causes, particularly in view of the fact that as far back as a month ago the city manager gave a report to the Dublin Corporation on this matter?

I would refer the Deputy to the Dublin Corporation, of which I understand he is a member, who are compiling the information which he seeks.
