Vol. 148 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department have under consideration any proposals for making a piped water supply available for the village of Barna, County Galway, and, if so, when work on the scheme will commence.

A scheme for the provision of a piped water supply for Barna was submitted by Galway County Council and was approved by this Department. In view of considerations of cost, however, certain economies are being provided for in the final documents which are being prepared locally. These documents have not yet been submitted for approval, but it is understood that the acquisition of the necessary land and water rights is being proceeded with.
