Vol. 149 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Turbary Area.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that a large area of turbary has been offered to the Land Commission on the estate of Timothy Wren, Record No. U. 12592, County Kerry, and that this turbary is urgently needed by the people of Ballymacelligott and Castleisland districts, County Kerry, and, if so, if he will ask the Land Commission to have it taken over and divided as soon as possible.

The Land Commission have recently acquired some 300 acres of the bog referred to by the Deputy and when they come to dispose of it they will give full consideration to the needs of the people of Ballymacelligott and Castleisland.

Meanwhile, if necessary, they will consider making bog lettings to satisfy demands for turbary this season.
