Vol. 149 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Potato Prices.

Mrs. Lynch

andMr. Blaney asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that there is a very great discrepancy between the price paid to the farmer for potatoes and the retail price charged in cities and towns, and, if so, what action he proposes to take in the matter.

I am not aware that the difference between the prices being paid to farmers for potatoes and the current retail prices exceeds that which normally obtains in the trade, but if the Deputies will furnish me with information in support of the allegation I shall be glad to have the matter further investigated.
