Vol. 149 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Banks' Early Closing.

asked the Minister for Finance whether, in view of the great inconvenience suffered by farmers on fair days because of the early closing of banks, he will make representations to the banks to remain open on such days from 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.

The early closing of banks on fair days and working days generally is a matter incidental to the dispute between the banks and the Bank Officials' Association. I hope that this dispute will be resolved as a result of the conference now in progress in the Mansion House.
