Vol. 149 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Oats and Wheaten Straw.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether there is any prohibition on the export of (a) oats, and (b) wheaten straw, and, if so, if he will state the terms thereof.

Under the provisions of the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1953, oats and wheaten straw may not be exported save under licence.

Licences for the export of wheaten straw are granted freely. In view of the out-turn of the oats crop last year licences are not being granted for the export of oats except in special circumstances, e.g., on change of residence to Northern Ireland.
