Vol. 150 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Porturlin Pier (Mayo).

asked the Minister for Finance what is the cause of the delay in providing a suitable pier for the fishermen of Porturlin, North Mayo, and if he will take steps to ensure that work on the project will commence as soon as possible.

The commencement of work on the improvement of Porturlin pier awaits the obtaining of legal agreement to an encroachment on adjoining land. The Mayo County Council have this matter in hands.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the owner is willing to give consent in regard to any rights required? He was never questioned.

That is not my information.

I have met the man during the week and he told me that. I know the place well; the right of way exists there.

I am afraid he told the inspector something different.
