Vol. 150 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Whiddy Island: Slip Improvements.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received proposals for the improvement of the slip at Crowangle, Whiddy Island, and, if so, what is the present position in the matter.

A proposal for the repair of the slipway at Crowkingle (Coosheen), Whiddy Island, County Cork, has been received. I am arranging to have the case included in the programme of minor marine works for inspection and report by an engineer during the coming season.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that that same answer has been given to the promoters of this scheme for more than 20 years and is it not time to take more definite steps to implement the proposal?

Do not blame me for what happened 20 years ago.

I am bringing it to the Parliamentary Secretary's notice. My information is that this has been going on for more than 20 years.

I am arranging to have it included in the programme of minor marine works for inspection and report by an engineer during the coming season.
