Vol. 150 No. 12

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Holdings for Migrants.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state (1) the number of holdings of 33½ acres now available for migrants, or expected to be available for them for the year ending 31st March, 1956, and (2) their location.

The holdings which will be available next spring are only in the process of being blocked out at the moment and building has not yet commenced. It would not be possible at the present time to give a reasonably accurate answer to the Deputy's question.

Is the Minister now admitting that the 33½ acre holdings which he said were readily available up the country for all those migrants seeking them, are not, and that, in fact, his statement is not true?

I think the Deputy is supercharged with electricity or what has come over him?
