Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - E.S.B. Advances and Repayments.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the total amount of money advanced to date to the E.S.B. under the Electricity Supply Acts and the Shannon Fisheries Act, respectively, and (b) the total amount of capital repaid to date.

(a) The total amount of advances to date from the Exchequer to the E.S.B. under the Electricity Supply Acts is £59,647,636, including the sum of £6,030,066 being the expenditure on the Shannon works for which the board became liable under the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927.

The total amount of advances under the Shannon Fisheries Act, 1935, is £77,000.

(b) The total amount of capital repaid to date by the E.S.B. is £2,451,425.
