Vol. 150 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bord na Móna Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the cause of the delay in sanctioning the disposal, for housing purposes, of a plot of ground in Ballivor, County Meath, by the Meath County Council to Bord na Móna.

This proposal was the subject of correspondence as regards the methods of sanitation that would be provided for the Bord na Móna houses. On receipt of satisfactory information on this point, the proposal was approved.

Can the Minister give the date on which the proposal was approved?

It was quite recently. Yes, on the 25th April we received information from the council as to the manner in which they proposed servicing these houses. We replied to that on the 19th May, this year, that no further objections would be raised to the proposal provided they were satisfied with the arrangements proposed by the board and subject to the site being serviced when the water supply for Ballivor becomes available. There was no delay once we were satisfied as to how they proposed servicing these houses.
