Vol. 151 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Cottages.

asked the Minister for Local Government (1) when he received tenders from the Kerry County Council for sanction to erect single rural cottages, (2) when the council was notified of sanction, (3) the number sanctioned, (4) the number of cases in which contract documents have been completed, and (5) the number of cases in which work has commenced.

The most recent proposal of the Kerry County Council to accept tenders for the erection of single rural cottages was received on 31st December, 1954. Sanction issued on 11th January, 1955, to the proposal which related to the erection of cottages on 38 sites. Up to the 24th instant contract documents had not been signed for any of the cottages and no work had commenced. On inquiry at the council's offices, it was stated that a contract for 19 cottages would be signed on 25th instant and that the contractor for the remaining cottages had been given until 27th instant to complete the documents.
