Vol. 151 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Holding.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission propose to acquire the holding of Michael Tuffy, Culleens, County Sligo.

The Land Commission instituted proceedings in respect of lands held by two persons named Tuffy in County Sligo. In the case of Mr. Michael Tuffy, whose lands are in the townland of Ballyogan, the owner's objection to acquisition was allowed last year thereby terminating proceedings. In the case of Mr. Thomas Tuffy, whose lands are in the townland of Culleens, the proceedings have reached an advanced stage but possession of the lands has not yet been taken.

Is it true that Michael Tuffy got two years from the Land Commission to build a house and that that term expired some months ago? Will the Land Commission now consider acquiring those lands?

Very good.
