asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the charge to visitors to Dublin and Shannon Airports, respectively, and the conditions under which a refund is made.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Charges to Airport Visitors.
The charges for admission of visitors, that is to say, sightseers to both airports, are as follows:— (a) for each person other than the driver of a motor-car, 6d.; (b) for each motor-car, including the driver, 2/6. The charge at Dublin Airport is reduced to 3d. for children under 14 years of age and at Shannon children under 12 years of age are admitted free.
A refund of the admission charge is made at Dublin Airport, on application, to any person who purchases a meal costing over 10/- in the public restaurant at the airport.
Would the Parliamentary Secretary state why there is a refund at Dublin Airport to any person who purchases a meal costing over 10/- and would he see that the same system obtains in Shannon Airport?
That is the regulation that has been there for years past. It can be investigated.
