Vol. 151 No. 11

Written Answers. - Central Engineering Workshop: Overhauls.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state, in respect of each item of engineering plant and machinery being overhauled in the central engineering workshop in May, 1955, and which had been out of service for more than six months, the reasons for the time taken (i) to transfer to the workshop, (ii) to begin overhaul after receipt, and (iii) to complete the overhaul where any or all of these factors are material.

A return giving the desired information is in process of compilation. Perhaps the Deputy will be good enough to repeat the question in a fortnight's time.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state, in respect of each item of engineering plant and machinery out of service in the field and awaiting transfer, or in transit to the central engineering workshop, the date on which it went out of service.

There is no item of engineering plant or machinery out of service in the field and awaiting transfer or in transit to the central engineering workshop. One excavator has, however, been awaiting a replacement engine since 31st May, 1955; the engine is on delivery to the site and should be installed within a few days.
