asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the book value of engineering plant and machinery held by the Office of Public Works at 31st March, 1955.
Written Answers. - Public Works Plant and Machinery.
The book value referred to is presumably a written-down value allowing for depreciation. This figure, which is not required for Vote accounting purposes, is not available. The purchase cost of the engineering plant and machinery held by the Commissioners of Public Works on the 31st March, 1955, for drainage purposes, excluding minor items such as lighting sets, drilling equipment, tools, etc., was approximately £1,100,000.
asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of each category of engineering plant and machinery named in the first column of his reply of the 14th June, 1955, (1) the number held by the Office of Public Works at 31st May, 1955, and (2) the cost of the last purchase.
