Vol. 151 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Regional Sanatorium.

andJ. Lynch asked the Minister for Health when the Cork regional sanatorium, which was officially opened by him on 18th May, 1955, will be open for the reception of patients.

St. Stephen's Hospital, Sarsfieldscourt, County Cork, is open for the reception of patients.

Due to unforeseen difficulties the contractor responsible for the installation of the X-ray plant is unable to commence the work of installation until the 24th instant. This work will be completed in about one month's time.

Pending the installation of the X-ray plant, non-operative patients could be admitted to the hospital if arrangements were made with the Cork Mobile X-ray Unit for X-ray examinations that might be required for such patients. Patients about to undergo surgery of immediately after surgery in whose cases full X-ray facilities in the hospital would be necessary could not be admitted until the X-ray plant is installed.
