Vol. 152 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Egg Prices.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the minimum prices payable to producers of eggs of the following grades: (a) large and standard grades not less than 1? ozs. per egg, (b) medium and small grades less than 1? ozs. per egg, and (c) extra small grade less than 1½ ozs. per egg.

There is no control on the prices of eggs, and, consequently, there are no minimum prices fixed for producers. The general practice is to buy ungraded eggs at a flat price from the producers, grading being done subsequently on registered wholesalers' premises.
