Vol. 152 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Water Supply Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the residents of Geesala and adjacent areas are anxious to be provided with a domestic water supply scheme; whether he has received proposals in the matter from the local authority; and what is the present position.

No proposals have been received from the sanitary authority for the provision of a water supply in the Geesala area. I understand that some years ago an attempt was made to provide a supply by means of boring but without success. The preparation of an alternative scheme is a matter for the sanitary authority in the first instance.
