Vol. 153 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Cork Afforestation.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state, in respect of the West Cork area, the acreage (a) which has been acquired for afforestation purposes, and (b) which is likely to be planted during the coming year.

My Department has acquired a total of 8,005 acres to date in the five forests in West Cork. As I informed the Deputy in reply to his question of the 5th May, 1955, it is proposed to plant about 500 acres in the coming season.
