Vol. 153 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Oats—Imports.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the quantities of oats imported during each of the months August and September, 1955.

asked the Taoiseach whether oats have been imported since 1st September last, and, if so, what was the quantity and price of such imports.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 5 and 6 together. No oats, with the exception of seeds for sowing, were imported in the months of August and September, 1955. Imports of oatseed amounted to 8 cwt. in August, 1955, and 61 cwt. in September, 1955. The average (c.i.f.) price in the latter month was £1 18s. 4d. per cwt. Particulars of any imports in October are not yet available.
