asked the Minister for Health if he will state the total number of applications under the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) Regulations, 1954 (a) which have been received by the Dublin Corporation, (b) which have been recommended, (c) which have been rejected on medical grounds, (d) which have been rejected on the grounds of family means, (e) which have been rejected for other reasons, and (f) which are awaiting decision; further, the number of applicants who are still awaiting payment of arrears of allowance.

The Dublin Corporation have intimated that the position in regard to the total applications under the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) Regulations, 1954, received during the period 1st October, 1954, to the 31st October, 1955, is as follows: (a) number received, 2,444; (b) number approved, 1,056; (c) number rejected on medical grounds, 484; (d) number rejected on grounds of means, 850; (e) number rejected for other reasons, nil; (f) number awaiting decision, 54; (g) applicants awaiting payment of arrears, nil.
