Vol. 153 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Biscuit Imports.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce why imports of biscuits from Great Britain and the Six Counties increased from 325 cwt. in May, 1955, to 752 cwt. in October, 1955.

I am not in a position to state why imports of biscuits from Great Britain and the Six Counties were higher in one month than in another month. Imports of biscuits are, however, usually higher in the second half of the year, presumably for the Christmas trade, than in the first half of the year.
