Vol. 153 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shannon Airport Extensions.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether proposals for the building of extensions at Shannon Airport are under consideration, and, if so, the nature of such proposals and the estimated cost.

As I informed the Deputy in reply to a question on the same subject on 23rd February last, extensions in the accommodation provided in the terminal building at Shannon for passengers and visitors are contemplated. The proposals include extensions to the lounge, restaurant and viewing areas. An extension to the restaurant is already nearly completed, at an estimated cost of £7,000.

As tenders have not yet been sought for the other works I do not think it desirable that I should state an estimate of the cost at this stage.
