Vol. 154 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Display of Bus Fares.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make representations to C.I.E. with a view to ensuring that a list of fares shall be prominently displayed in all public service omnibuses operating on the Cork City service routes.

C.I.E. are required under the provisions of the Road Transport Act, 1932, to display conspicuously in each omnibus a schedule of the actual fares which are being charged on the service.

I have been informed by C.I.E. that fares lists are displayed in all omnibuses in Cork City. The board are also having new lists prepared which will show the fares on all Cork City services on one sheet. This will ensure that, despite changing or diversion of a vehicle, a current fares schedule will always be displayed.
