Vol. 154 No. 3

Written Answer. - Land Division.

asked the Minister for Lands what steps are being taken towards the division of the McGirr estate, Newtown, Garristown, among local uneconomic holders, and whether the land will be allocated at an early date to permit the early sowing of crops this spring.

Final proposals for the allotment of this estate have not yet been settled. Some improvements essential to the disposal of the lands were required; these have been carried out but the ground is not yet in a fully restored condition and it is most unlikely that allotment will be effected this season.
