Vol. 154 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Postal Services.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether, in view of the recent widespread housing developments in the area and the building operations at present in progress, he will state when he proposes to provide a sub-post office in the Ballinlough Road area, Cork.

As the Deputy is aware, the provision of a sub-post office in the Ballinlough area of Cork was deferred, pending the completion of the building programme in the district. This deferment was necessary in order that the most suitable site for the office might be determined. I am now having the matter re-examined and I shall communicate with the Deputy when my inquiries have been completed.

I hope it will be put in the most suitable area and not too near the present one.

We are endeavouring to get the most suitable site and building is not proceeding as fast as we thought it would.
