Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Acquisition and Division.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the lands of Mr. J. Armstrong, Dromahaire, County Leitrim, for distribution among small landholders in the area; and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of these lands but they have called for a detailed report on them.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring Mrs. Simpson's estate, Portlick, County Westmeath, for division; and, if so, with what result.

Proceedings for the acquisition of portion of this estate were instituted in 1950 and the owner's objection thereto was subsequently allowed. The Land Commission are at present having further enquiries made in regard to the lands.
