Vol. 155 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the lands of White's estate, Ballywater and Ballinoulart, Gorey, County Wexford, for division, and, if so, with what result.

In regard to this estate the Land Commission have certain proposals which, for the present, must be treated as confidential.

The owner of this land is an American and all the people in that area are agitating and approaching the Deputies of the county with a view to having it divided. Every time we put down a question we get the same old reply in regard to this estate.

No. If the Deputy considers it he will admit there is an advance on it. There are proposals, but at the present time it would not be decent to reveal what the proposals are between the Land Commission and the owner of the land.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the lands of Patrick Breen, Ballincash, Oulart, County Wexford, for division among small landholders in the area, and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of these lands. They have, however, noted the owner's application for exchange in the event of suitable lands becoming available for disposal.
