Vol. 156 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - North Mayo Power Stations.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether a decision has been reached by the E.S.B. to reduce the number of power stations which it is proposed to erect in North Mayo, and, if so, if he will state the nature of such decision.

I am informed by the E.S.B. that, with the agreement of Bord na Móna, it has decided to substitute for the two power stations which it was proposed to erect at Bellacorick and Bangor-Erris respectively a single station at Bellacorick with the same total installed generating capacity as the two separate stations originally proposed, and to be supplied with milled peat from both the Bangor-Erris and the Bellacorick bogs.
