Vol. 156 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Housing Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the reason for the long delay in having newly-erected houses and reconstructed houses in County Meath finally inspected to enable the complete grant to be paid to the applicants, and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

I am aware that there have been delays in the Meath area in the inspection of houses for grant purposes. This was due to an abnormal volume of work occurring in the case of the inspector for the area. Arrangements have been made to give the inspector assistance to clear off the arrears.
