Vol. 156 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Closing of Limerick Garda Stations.

asked the Minister for Justice whether it has been decided to close down certain Garda Síochána stations in County Limerick, and, if so, what stations are involved in the proposal.

It has been decided to close Castletown, Ardagh and Knocklong Stations.

Is the Minister aware that there is a great deal of dissatisfaction in Castletown, Ardagh and Knocklong in respect of this decision?

The Commissioner is satisfied that the area is being properly covered from the adjoining stations. There are over 70 patrol cars in the areas concerned and there is no difficulty in covering the entire areas from the adjoining stations.
