Vol. 156 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages of Cork Builders' Labourers.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the northern committee of the Cork County Council recently recommended an increase of 3d. an hour in the wages of builders' labourers in the North Cork health area; whether he has received proposals from the county manager, and, if not, if he will ascertain the cause of the delay in submitting such proposals.

I am not aware of the recommendation referred to by the Deputy. No proposal for an increase in the wages of builders' labourers in the North Cork health area has been submitted by the Cork County Manager and in the absence of any such proposal the Minister has no function in the matter.
