Vol. 156 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Longford Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands when the allotment of the Woodville estate, Dring, County Longford, will take place.

Proceedings for the acquisition of this estate have been completed but a difficulty has arisen in securing possession. Until this difficulty has been overcome allotment of the lands cannot be effected.

asked the Minister for Lands whether it is intended to let the Lynch and Reilly estate, Aughnagarran, Granard, County Longford, and why there is continued delay in allotting the lands among uneconomic landholders in the area.

Possession of these estates was obtained by the Land Commission only within the last month or so and the formulation of schemes for their disposal has since been put in hands. Pending the completion of such schemes, and, in order to secure revenue, it is proposed to make lettings of the lands this season.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the lands of Mr. Matthew Tyrrell, Caramana, Killashee, County Longford, for division and allotment among uneconomic holders in the area, and, if so, with what result.

Proceedings for the purchase of these lands are well advanced but the Land Commission have not yet obtained possession.
