Vol. 156 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Turbary Plots.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that the people of Aghaloonteen, Knockmoyleen, Carrowskeehaun, Cum, Ballymacredmond, Caffoley and Laherdane, County Mayo, are anxious to have turbary plots allotted to them, and, if so, if the Land Commission will take steps to meet the need.

I am not aware that there is a scarcity of turbary in the area mentioned by the Deputy, but I shall have inquiries made. The Land Commission have no turbary on hands in the townlands named but it may be possible to provide some of the tenants with plots from a bog which is on hands in Gortnahurra Lower.
