Vol. 157 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Acquisition and Division.

asked the Minister for Lands what is the present position in relation to the Land Commission proceedings to acquire the Watson estate, Ballyhare, Croom, County Limerick, and whether this estate is likely to be allotted during the current year.

The Land Commission acquired this estate within the last four months but as yet I am unable to indicate when disposal will be effected.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have completed consideration of the advisability of acquiring the holding of Michael McDonnell, deceased, at Cloontia, Ballaghaderreen, and, if so, with what result.

This question would appear to refer to the holding of Reps. Michael McDonnell in the townland of Tawnaghbeg, County Mayo. The Land Commission have called for a detailed report on these lands but this has not yet been furnished.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission propose to rearrange the Meldon estate, Ballybockagh and Mochara, County Mayo, and, if so, when.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply of 2nd June, 1955, to a similar question. Accordingly, I am unable to forecast when the rearrangement will be carried out.
