Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Social Insurance Fund.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state, on the basis that the employment position will remain as it is at present, (a) the estimated amount which will accrue to the Social Insurance Fund in one year as a result of the proposed increase in contributions, and (b) the estimated annual expenditure that will be incurred in paying the proposed increased rates of benefit.

The required estimated amounts are:—

(a) additional annual income to the Social Insurance Fund arising from the proposed increases in rates of contributions— £1,010,000;

(b) additional annual expenditure from the Social Insurance Fund arising from the proposed increases in rates of benefit— £1,515,000.
