Vol. 157 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Potential Sheep Exports.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the increase in the number of sheep in the country, he will explore the potentialities of exporting sheep to France to ensure a ready market for our farmers.

Exports of carcase lamb to Paris commenced last October and the trade is still continuing. Close touch is being maintained with the French market position with a view to availing as much as possible of such opportunities as exist there.
