Vol. 157 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Cement Factory.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that workers employed at the cement factory, Mungret, County Limerick, have recently been laid off, and, if so, if he will make a statement on the matter in order to dispel uneasiness and anxiety among the employees.

I am informed that the employment of a number of workers at the cement factory at Limerick was terminated recently owing to the conclusion of a part of the work on the extension to the factory.

The disemployment had no connection with cement production, which is proceeding normally.
