Vol. 157 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Women's Police Force.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the number of public bodies which have made representations to him concerning the establishment of a women's police force, and if, in view of such representations and the other evidence of growing public concern, he will state when he expects to be in a position to make a decision on the matter.

Requests that the appointment of women police be considered have been received from seven county and borough councils. I am unable to state when a decision as to the appointment or otherwise of women police will be made.
