Vol. 158 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sallynoggin Dispensary Arrangements.

asked the Minister for Health whether he is aware that many residents in Sallynoggin, County Dublin, whose dwellings are in the Dublin County Council area, have to travel over three miles to attend a dispensary, although the local clinic is quite convenient to their homes; and if, in view of the great hardship thus caused, he will consider having more suitable arrangements made.

I understand that some persons in the Sallynoggin area are at present inconvenienced by being unable to attend Sallynoggin dispensary, which is outside their dispensary district. However, I have approved in principle of the reorganisation of the dispensary districts in the Rathdown Board of Assistance area, which will remedy the situation. Details of the reorganisation are at present under consideration by the health authority.

Will the Minister say when it is likely that the decision will be known?

It is now a matter for consideration by the Rathdown Board of Assistance and I understand that it is, at the moment, being considered by that board.
