Vol. 160 No. 9

Written Answers. - Allocation of Houses.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the conditions governing the allocation of houses by a local authority, the method of such allocation, and the persons to whom priority is given.

The method of selection of tenants of local authority houses and the classes of persons to whom preference shall be given are governed by Sections 29 and 35 of the Housing (Amendment) Act, 1948 (as amended by Sections 28 and 34 of the Housing (Amendment) Act, 1952), and the regulations made thereunder. The Housing (Management and Letting) Regulations, 1950 and 1953, give effect to the statutory provisions referred to.
