Vol. 160 No. 13

Suspension of Member.

I move:—

That Deputy McQuillan be suspended from the service of the House.

Question put and declared carried.

Deputy McQuillan will please leave the Chamber.

I will not, until I know why. Is it suggested I must leave this Chamber because I uphold the rights of the Irish people? Is it not a fact that the Taoiseach is allowing people from outside this country——

It is not a fact. The Deputy is grossly abusing his privileges.

Is it not a fact that this House owns the Kenmare estates, by right?

Deputies

Chair!

I am not concerned with a bunch of backbenchers trying to intimidate me here.

I am asking the Deputy to leave the Chamber or I shall have to ask an officer of the House to remove him.

Rather than disobey your ruling, I will leave this House-not at the request of Deputy Blowick.

The Deputy will leave it sooner than he thinks.

I hope that the people of this country will note the reason why I have been put out of this Chamber and that the Taoiseach will realise what he is doing, giving preference in the sale of Irish land and Irish property to people from outside this State, and exporting 40,000 young Irish people out of this country every year. I think that is a disgrace.

Let the Killarney men deal with that, not the Deputy.

Deputy McQuillan withdrew from the Chamber.
