asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if it is the intention of the E.S.B. to extend rural electrification to the townlands in the mountainous district between the Templederry and the Birdhill areas, North Tipperary.

I am informed by the E.S.B. that these townlands are included in the Toom area in which an official canvass of the residents was carried out last summer. The area will be considered for selection by the board in due course and the decision of the board will depend on how its returns then compare with those for other areas still awaiting development in the Limerick district.
