Vol. 161 No. 2

Committee on Finance. - Vote 9—Public Works and Buildings.

I move:—

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £25,500 be granted to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1957, for Expenditure in respect of Public Buildings; for the Maintenance of certain Parks and Public Works; for the Execution and Maintenance of Drainage and other Engineering Works: and for a Grant-in-Aid of the River Shannon Navigation.

This Estimate is set out under two headings. The original estimate for the River Shannon Navigation is not sufficient and has to be supplemented by £500. Secondly, we want a supplementary estimate of £25,000 for arterial drainage, principally owing to the cost of labour in the various works carried out in connection with arterial drainage.

Vote put and agreed to.
