Vol. 161 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Listowel Factory.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of the fact that there is large scale unemployment in the Listowel area, he will expedite proposals to secure a suitable factory for the town.

It is the policy of the Government to rely, in the main, on private enterprise and local initiative in securing the establishment of new industries. Any person or group putting forward a sound proposition for the setting up of a factory at Listowel can count on obtaining substantial assistance, financial and otherwise, for their project.
